WEBSITE MAINTENANCE
Once your site has been made search engine friendly and is loaded on a hosting
server that provides good web site statistics, it's important to keep your site
FRESH. In other words, keep the available data up to date. Web sites that are
continuously updated (once a month to once a quarter) carry more weight with the
various Search Engines. We offer a variety of options to make the process of
keeping your web site updated and fresh and simple and cost-effective as
possible.
Definition: Maintenance is the on-going support to change the
content of the current web site files. An example of this is when data such as
rates, photos or any current data changes. The files, in turn, will need to be
modified to reflect such changes. Once your web site is designed, a maintenance
program is available to continue to keep it up to date.
FTP Self Serve (Free)
FTP Self Serve is for those do-it-yourselfers who want to upkeep their web site
on their own. Debbie will set up an FTP account and provide you with the host,
username and password. An FTP Client will also be necessary. Below are just a
few that are available either free or for a small fee. (This is only possible
for us to set up if your site is hosted with Deb's Webs. Otherwise, you will
need to contact your host.)
FrontPage, Dreamweaver and Microsoft Expression also have FTP capabilities built
into the program but I recommend using a separate program in most cases.
Hourly Updates - $30.00 per hour
Deb's Webs charges $30.00 per hour with a minimum charge of 1 hour. If you
request an update but only use 15 minutes of your minimum time, I will keep your
service ticket open for 14 days before an invoice will be sent. This gives
you time to do additional updates to utilize all of your time you will be billed
for.
Customer
Maintained Website through simple online editing
$129.00 (one-time fee)
Includes installation and setup for one user... each additional user is a
one-time fee of $25.00 each
(Deb's Webs does not charge an
ongoing use fee after the initial one-time fee)
The Customer Maintained option is for those do-it-yourselfers who want to upkeep
their web site on their own, but do not have the skills, tools or technical
experience to use the FTP Self Serve option listed above. Using this simple wysiwyg (What
You See Is What You Get) content-editor tool is for those web site owners who
want a very easy, quick, and visual way to edit a pre-defined area on any web
page through their browser without messing up the rest of the web page. If you
can pull E-mail online, or know how to use a word processing tool such as WORD
or WORD PERFECT, you have the skills to use our online editor program to update the text on
your web site. IT REALLY IS THAT EASY!
